New Homes – what the government needs to know
18 August 2025The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) was founded on the 6th February 1959, in London as the national umbrella organisation for the engineering profession in Nigeria. The main objective of the organisation is the promotion of engineering education, research and practice in all ramifications.
This is with a view to maintaining and enhancing the professional capabilities of its members to better equip them to fulfil the needs of the profession for the good of the public and the nation.
The theme of the conference is The Role of Nigerian Engineers in Infrastructure Sustainability.
This is in recognition of the fact that efforts to clear Nigeria’s infrastructural deficit have continued to generate high-level discourse in recent years, even after the enactment of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission Act in 2005. By hosting this conference in London UK, the NSE is looking to provide a platform to further explore and elaborate on innovative ways to address the
funding gap of the country’s much needed infrastructure provision in line with the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Various topics have been carefully selected to effectively address the theme to form a strong catalyst for sustainable national infrastructure development, such topics will include:
- Air Pollution & Treatment
- Renewable Energy
- Waste & Circular Economy
- Water and Soil Management
- Environmental Development
- Innovations in Construction Materials
The conference will seek to engage the relevant stakeholders responsible for planning, financing, delivery and management of urban infrastructure across the major sectors including Affordable Housing, Renewable Energy, Water and Waste Management, Urban Transport, Sustainable Building Materials and Recycled aggregates. It would provide a forum to debate what needs to be done to ensure the emergence of financial vehicles which will unlock and ignite more sustainable models of using local materials in Nigeria to unleash the social and economic potential of this great country.
The conference will bring together distinguished guests such as The Senate President, Governors,
Honourable Ministers of Works, Innovation Science and Technology, Aviation, Housing,
Water & Sanitation, the NSE President, Directors of LAMATA, Julius Berger, BUA, CEO of major banks, International Financial Institutions, Developers and a host of organisations from Nigeria, UK and other parts of the world. It is an opportunity to meet majority of corporate investors, service providers and professionals under one roof.
